Somerston's own Olympic Torchbearer lights up the streets

We were extraordinarily proud when Paul Jasper of Holiday Inn Express London Luton Airport was selected to carry the Torch ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and all the training, excitement and anticipation built up to his special moment on Saturday 23rd June.

At around 6.50am Paul took hold of the Olympic flame to run a double-leg of the Torch Relay through the town of Lytham St. Annes in the North West of England. Cheered on by friends, family and well-wishers, Paul did himself and us proud and enjoyed every second of his once-in-lifetime-opportunity.

The countdown to the Games is on and we're thrilled that Paul was able to experience the Torch Relay.

Name change reflects Dartford hotel's proximity to the Capital

We're pleased today to announce that the hotel formerly known at Holiday Inn Express Dartford Bridge has been formally renamed, and will now be known as Holiday Inn Express London - Dartford.

The change of title relects the hotel's convenience for visiting London. Holiday Inn Express London - Dartford is already being seen as a great value option for guests visiting the Olympic Park for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as it can be accessed in as little as 30 minutes by using the nearby Ebbsfleet train station which connects directly to Stratford. Rooms are available over the Games period, with rates from just £89.99 including our free Express Start breakfast buffet with hot and continental selections.

Our Dartford hotel is located just off Junction 1A of the M25 and gives easy access to both London and Kent, the Garden of England. We'll be updating our websites and signage in the coming weeks to reflect the name change.
